Regular attendance is a must in order for your child to achieve the best from their education. Find out more about School Attendance on our website.
Leave of Absence
There have been changes made by Government regarding leave of absence. This applies to all schools and the new legislation came into force on 1 September 2013.
The amendments to the 2006 regulations now make clear that the Governing Body may not grant any leave of absence during term-time unless there are exceptional circumstances e.g. family bereavement. The Head Teacher will determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the exceptional circumstances leave is granted. A written application for leave of absence using the schools form LOA Request must be submitted to the Head Teacher via the School office. This is will processed by the Attendance Team and a meeting arranged to discuss the request.
