In History Year 6 have been exploring the ancient Maya civilisation. We have learnt who the ancient Maya   people were and where and when they lived. We have used maps and atlases to locate Maya cities and identify countries in Mesoamerica. We have also learnt about their beliefs, the Maya number system, the Maya writing system and the food eaten by the ancient Maya people. We completed a treasure hunt to find out facts and then ended our unit of work with a virtual experience where we took on the role of an Ancient Mayan.
