In Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo Michael’s father decides that the family will sail around the world together. Over the last two weeks in English year 6 have been writing a balanced argument to discuss if Michael’s parents should have been allowed to take him out of school to sail around the world.
In groups the children decided on whether they were going to argue for or against. They also looked at what makes an effective presentation and an effective audience. The children then presented this to the class and shared their ideas and came up with a conclusion.
