This week, Year 6 have started their new class novel – The 1000 Year Old Boy by Ross Welford. This is a story about someone who wants to stop living forever…Alfie Monk is like any other nearly teenage boy – except he’s 1,000 years old and can remember the last Viking invasion of England. We began by exploring the story and debating the advantages and disadvantages of living forever. After being introduced to the characters, we used evidence from the text to make inferences about the different characters.
