This week in Year 4, we have been using maps and atlases in Geography to name and locate Bishop Auckland, Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland. We have learned how to use 8-point compass directions to describe their locations in the North-East of England, before moving onto describing what human and physical features there are in the North East – namely two human features (The Angel of the North and Hadrian’s Wall) and two physical features (Durham Heritage Coast and High Force). The children enjoyed researching and finding out facts about these human and physical features and then confidently giving feedback to the rest of the class.
